Baby Girl
This dog is Baby Girl, a one year old mix relinquished when her owner became homeless. She is very sweet, knows some commands, plays fetch well, and is a very joyful girl. Baby Girl weighs 50 pounds, is heartworm negative, microchipped, spayed and current on vaccinations. Sassy
Born in a foster home in early December 2025. She is dog social, very playful, weighs under 20 pounds. DNA analysis says she is a Boston Terrier/Jack Russel mix with a touch of Coon Hound. Looking for her forever home!

One of Isabelle's puppies. Born in a foster home on November 20, 2025. DNA tests were done -- she is 50% Pit, 14% Labrador, and a touch Boxer and Cain Corso.
Elkie
This is Elkie out loving a morning walk! She's a sweetie who came to us in terrible condition but continues to improve. She's great with her bedding, doesn't destroy toys, would likely be a lovebug in a home!
Isabelle
Relinquished, extremely shy but very playful when she knows you. She is three years old. DNA shows she is a mix of Pit, Lab, and Boxer.
Leroy
This is senior Leroy, relinquished at 10 years old when his owners moved into a healthcare facility where a small dog wasn't welcome. He is 10 years old, healthy and easy to walk. All he needs is a friend and a home to enjoy.
Marylin
Marylin is very wary of strangers but once she knows you she is great at playing fetch, getting brushed out and running through all the basic commands. She would be best with an experienced a Shepherd owner with a fenced yard and a limited number of guests.
Bear
This fellow is Bear, a 2 year old Weimar-Doodle who is fluffy and fun. He is working with a trainer now to develop better leash manners, but he lives to play in a fenced yard.
Buttercup
Buttercup is our lovely golden Shepherd mix, female spayed, vaccinations current and microchipped. She has PEI which is Pancreatic Enzyme Insufficiency, a condition that is treatable by adding a special powder to her meals but that does have an associated cost of $236 for a 6 week supply. This is a lifetime condition. We would appreciate sponsors to underwrite her medicine if unable to find her a forever home.

This little Jack Russell/Corgi mix is adorable. Male neutered, microchipped, vaccs current and heartworm negative. His name is Ajax and he's wonderful, dog social and very loveable.

Kobe
This is Kobe and he is a wonderful dog looking for his forever home. He came to Dogtown in May of 2023, relinquished when his owner was evicted from his apartment, and somehow has never been chosen to be fostered or adopted. He loves toys, likes other dogs, and likes to play with his toys. He is six years old, 60 pounds, and should be with a family in a home!! A fenced yard would be great for Kobe to have a place to play.
Peanut
Adopted as a 9 week old puppy from Elkhart Humane in August, she was recently relinquished to Dogtown because her energy was too high for the young children in the adopting family.
She is spayed, current on vaccinations and needs a home able to train and set limits for a very happy 5 month old.

Dolly
Dolly is a sweet girl ready for a forever home. She was found a a stray, in a location that suggested she was abandoned by prior owner, but she is very funny once she knows you. Her shyness is something to be aware of so a calm home will be the best destination.
Rhea
She is 5 years old. Came to Dogtown in November 2023. Her mix is Boxer and Jack Russell. Weighs about 40 pounds. Very playful, loves her toys. Snuggles down in her bed, loves people, needs to be an only dog.

Rejean and Dan with Ann Rossi
Here is the adoption photo of little Ann Rossi with new owners Dan and Rejean. They brought her a cozy winter sweater to keep her comfy on the ride home, and have everything she'll need to be a spoiled lovely lady in her new home. Matthew and Noah with Grace
This is an adoption post about a little beauty named Grace. She was a local unclaimed stray who has now found her forever home in Michigan. She is being held by Matthew, her new owner. His friend Noah came along for the adoption, and played a major role in connecting Grace to her new home. So glad to get this girl off to a great new beginning! Adopted 1/8/25
Gail with Luna
I just realized I missed posting an adoption story. The lovely little Luna has found her forever home with Gail. We're so happy she can return to a home setting and receive attention around the clock. So glad Luna can be the retirement companion for Gail!! Adopted 12/26/24
Ann with Alikat
We had something of a Christmas miracle for one of our longest resident cats last week. Alikat originally came to us as a temporary hold for an owner, with the intention she would reclaim her cat when possible, however that never became an option. We adopted Ali into a home once, but she was a very flighty and shy cat in that home, escaping to the basement and hiding in the rafters. So Ali came back, and it looked like she might always be with us. But when Ann met her on an adoption visit with her daughter, she couldn't get this sweet older cat out of her mind. And last week, after the passing of Ann's senior dog, Ann decided to adopt Ali! Reports from home are WONDERFUL! Ann and her husband like the name Ali so will use that, and they say she is such a friendly cat in their home! It just goes to show that there is a home for every rescue, we just need to make the connections! We are happy for this new beginning for one of our longest resident rescues!! Jeff and Michele with Lady
Lucky Lady!! Our adorable rescue named Lady has found her forever home, and just in time to spend Christmas with her new family!! Jeff and Michele came to meet her and fell in love right away. They have an older Mastiff at home, so there's one more introduction to go. But we expect that these two friendly, calm dogs will be thrilled to have a new friend. There may be more photos soon from home, but for now we'll just celebrate a new beginning for Lady!! Adopted 12/20/24
Jessica, Kylee, & Jacob with Frosty
It's celebration time for Frosty's adoption! Frosty has been on an epic foster home placement that began the end of December last year. Jessica and daughter Kylee and son Jacob are so happy to finalize this adoption, and make Frosty an official member of their family. This little dog was found outside Harding's grocery almost one year ago, and has happily found a comfortable life and a forever family!! An adoption story to celebrate!! Adopted 12/15/24

More happy news for Dogtown felines! Delaney and her mom, Ann, came today to meet and adopt Nugget and Kirby!! These are the two youngest kitten/cats we had at Dogtown. Recently neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, all we were waiting on was their forever homes. Unexpectedly, they both received their perfect next chapter today!! Delaney has a cat at home who needed some companionship, so today he will meet his new friends!! So glad to have a home for two more Dogtown Rescues!! Adopted 12/7/24

WooHoo!! Spectacularly happy to share adoption news for one of our cats!! Oreo is moving to his forever home with John, and this is truly worth celebrating. Oreo is a wonderful cat and he will be so lucky to find himself in a home with John and another feline friend!! We have amazing cats, as well as dogs, looking for new families. Finally it seems our incredible rescue Tulsa has found her forever family!! She has been with us since early August, discovered just sitting on our doorstep waiting for us to return to the office. She's such an incredible dog that I thought she would be adopted immediately, but she never was chosen... until today! It must be that this is her perfect family and she just needed to wait for them to discover her!! Fingers crossed because there are two cats and a Golden Retriever at home who need to be fine with her arrival, but it certainly seems like this is the break Tulsa has been waiting for. Wonderful new family, left to right, are Luke (major inspiration for this decision) Cora and parents Lindsey and Eric. Huge thanks to a family willing to add a rescue to their home!!! Adopted 11/3/24

Chloe and Family
We had a special adoption for our little rescue named Chloe. She gained not just new parents, but also a set of godparents!! Jonathan and Jeannette, on the left, adopted Chloe. And Ladeen and Fred are the"godparents" for this lucky little dog. Fred is the talented artist who created the Dogtown Resort sign, and we've been friends for many years. Fred and Ladeen own a small rescue dog who will be a great friend for Chloe. The two dogs will move from house to house when owners take vacations away from their dogs. Celebration day!! Oreo with Katelyn
Today was a wonderful day for Oreo, a majestic cat who has a wonderful calm manner. He came to Dogtown as a kitten three years ago, and was adopted, but sadly his family faced severe medical challenges and needed to return him to us this summer. Katelyn, with her husband Nick and two young sons, visited yesterday to meet adoptable dogs. But the boys were captivated by our cats. Thankfully for Oreo, this family has decided to adopt Oreo and provide him with a home again!! So happy for this new chapter!! Adopted 1/17/24

Said goodbye to Quinn this morning, but only while sending him to his forever home!! Linda was very happy to welcome him to share her world, and Quinn happily jumped into her vehicle ready for the new beginning. So very happy that this lovely fellow has a place to belong. Max and Nicole
Monday was a doubly-good day for this little dog named Max. He was a Dogtown Rescue named Lee, who was fostered by Nicole and her husband Joshua. Max was boarding with us for a week or so while his new family enjoyed a vacation. And on Monday his boarding stay ended with both his pickup by Nicole, plus his official ADOPTION!! Max will be in his forever home for Christmas!! So glad!! Adopted 12/12/23
Skipper and Family
The third adoption story is for the beautiful stray named Skipper! She has found a multigenerational home where she can learn all about being a treasured pet. Catalina and her grandmother, Mary (not in photo) and Bobbi and Alan were all very excited to meet Skipper. This rescue is a little shy but will learn all about her new family with patience and training. It's so nice when a whole family is involved with welcoming a new dog into the home! Oliver with Sara
Oliver is a young Labradoodle who needed a new home. Sara and her husband Brad have been looking for a dog to join their senior pair of yellow labs. They also own cats and needed a dog who would be friendly with their group. Sara picked up Oliver a couple days past his neuter appointment and it seems he has found his perfect home. It's always good to be able to place a dog from home to home without much time in a kennel. This photo is Sara with Oliver on his departure day!! Adopted 11/22/23
